Ryan James Kiess

May 4, 1996 - July 24, 2021

Ryan lived his entire life in Manhasset NY, and loved the Orange & Blue!

Beloved son of Nina & Kurt, adored brother of Nicole (26 years old) and Kimberly (22 years old).   Dearly loved by grandparents Klaus & Nancy Kiess and Anna Calace‐Mottola.  Cherished nephew of Mark Kiess, Julie Zier Kiess, Allene Kiess, Lisa Katz, JP & Kara Dowd.  Beloved cousin of KJ, Jack, Maggie & Timmy Kiess and Anna, John, Elsa & Nora Dowd.  Treasured by Bob, Christy, Catherine, Sarah & Lauren Weppler and Joe, Darlene, Rocky, Argie, Iliana, George, Shana & Brianna Maglio.

Ryan came into the world as a 9lbs 4oz baby and lived larger than life. At 6 feet 3 inches tall, his presence was known due to his height and beautiful smile.  He was passionate about family, friends, sports, food, music, travel, and good times especially at North Hempstead Country Club.

He graduated from Manhasset High School in 2014 and played lacrosse, football and ice hockey (Captain). When part of the Manhasset Varsity Ice Hockey team, Ryan and his team won the 2014 New York State Championship. In his spare time, Ryan volunteered at the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department Company No. 2 for three years. He also played the viola for eight years in the school orchestras.

Ryan continued on to play Division III lacrosse at the University of Scranton with his cousin Jack. There, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (2018) followed by his Masters in Accountancy (2019). While at Scranton, Ryan also took part in a 3-week study abroad program in Morocco.

Ryan was proud of his career at KPMG, had just received a promotion and always appreciated the support of his colleagues. He started as an Audit Intern in 2019 and worked his way up to a Senior Associate position.

Ryan had a passion for traveling, cooking for others, creating Spotify playlists, golfing, and skiing. He was an avid Mets, Jets, and Islander fan. Ryan was often spotted driving around town in an old white Suburban with his seat all the way reclined.

Ryan was loved by all…most importantly by the love of his life, Brianna Maglio, his college sweetheart and girlfriend of 6 years.

He is predeceased by his grandfather, Joseph Calace-Mottola, and uncle, Ken Kiess.

Although his time with us was too short, he lived a wonderful life of joy, laughter and love.

Rest in Peace our Beautiful Ryan! We love you always & forevermore Ry Guy!
